About Willamette North Fork

Willamette North Fork is a refreshing cold spring tucked along the North Fork Road in Oregon. Known for its crisp, clear waters and natural swimming holes, it offers an authentic outdoor experience away from the crowds. This primitive spot invites you to immerse yourself in cool mountain water surrounded by lush forest.

Getting There

To reach Willamette North Fork, drive east on RT 58 just before Oakridge and take the second turnoff for Westfir-Oakridge between mileposts 33 and 34. After crossing the Westfir covered bridge, the road becomes North Fork Road (FR 19). The spring is accessible right from the road with ample free parking and no hiking required.

What to Expect

The spring delivers invigorating cold water perfect for a summer dip. You’ll find several natural swimming holes scattered along the road, each offering a peaceful atmosphere framed by dense trees. Facilities are minimal, so the swimming experience remains raw and unstructured. Crowds are generally light, letting you savor the quiet of Oregon’s forest.

Tips for Visitors

Plan your visit during summer when the water is most inviting. Bring sturdy water shoes to navigate uneven stream bottoms and a towel. There are no entrance fees or facilities, so pack out what you bring in. Unofficially, some visitors enjoy this spot clothing optional—respect the natural setting and other bathers.
