About Next Bridge

Next Bridge offers a refreshing escape along the Little River in Tennessee, where clear, cold water carves out a quiet swimming hole. This primitive spot feels untouched, inviting you to immerse in the crisp currents of one of the state’s natural cold springs. Its peaceful setting along the river encourages a serene connection with nature.

Getting There

You reach Next Bridge by driving about four miles north of The Sinks on Little River Road, passing Metcalf Bottoms picnic area until you cross a bridge with the river to your right. Parking is limited on a gravel pullout just beyond the bridge. From there, a brief 5-minute walk leads you down to the swimming hole.

What to Expect

The water here is fresh and cool year-round, ideal for a brisk soak in one of Tennessee’s lesser-known swimming holes. The atmosphere remains quiet with few visitors, allowing you to enjoy the natural landscape without distraction. Facilities are minimal, so you interact with pure wilderness at this primitive site.

Tips for Visitors

Visit during off-peak hours to maintain the peaceful vibe and be prepared for limited parking. Since the walk from the gravel area to the water takes only minutes, sturdy shoes will help on the uneven trail. No fees apply, but leave no trace to keep this slice of Tennessee’s natural hot springs pristine.
